Vehicle rental reimbursement

The typical rental reimbursement coverage is noticeably inadequate in the current marketplace. Before the pandemic, it was common to get a vehicle repaired within 30 days, and it didn’t matter what brand it was. Well, those days are over, because you’ll be lucky to get the vehicle repaired within that time frame. Shops are at their full capacity and backed up by weeks, and part shortage adds fuel to the fire. It is no longer within 30 days but at least 30 days. This is a problem because most rental reimbursement coverage only extends to 30 days, so you’ll be required to pay out of pocket for the excess number of days you use. If you can extend it beyond 30 days by updating your policy, go for it, because the cost will be minimal. The 30 days limit is not consecutive days either so you need to be creative. If you’re not going to use the rental for a consecutive number of days, don’t set up the rental that way. Save the days and rent it out later when you need it again. If you only need to use the rental Monday through Thursday, don’t rent it for 7 consecutive days. This process requires more work and it can get annoying but it's preferable to paying out of pocket
